Steps To Find The Owner Of A Property

Step 1: Go to Your Mashboard

To start your property owner lookup, you first need to visit your Mashboard. The link to this tool is available in the upper right-hand corner of your Mashvisor real estate investing Dashboard. The Mashboard is a feature which we developed with the interests and needs of real estate agents and brokers in mind, but which many experienced real estate investors and property owners also find of great value. For one, it gives you the option how to find out who owns a house in any US real estate market.

Once you are on your Mashboard, click on the Find Owners button on the Owners tab after making sure that you have the Dashboard view selected from the left-hand side menu.

Step 2: Set Up Your Criteria

With regards to property owner search, you have two options:

Option 1: The Owner of a Specific Property

The first option is to look up the homeowner data of a particular property. Let’s say that you fell for this house while driving for dollars around the neighborhood, and you believe it will make the ideal rental property for your real estate investment requirements and expectations. Now you want to find out who lives at this address so that you can contact him/her to try to buy the property.

To do that on Mashvisor’s real estate platform, you need enter the street address of the home as well as the city and state. Alternatively, you can search for the property data by the ZIP code. Also, you need to choose what type of property owner data you want: address, phone number, email address, or all these.

As soon as you have inserted your criteria, you can click on Add Contact, and your homeowner data will be available in a couple of minutes.

Option 2: All House Owners in an Area

The second option is to find all property owners within a specific real estate market. To conduct this real estate search, you should enter the state as well as the city or the address or the ZIP code, depending on how narrow or broad you want your property owner search to be. To narrow down your property owner lookup, you can look for properties by:

  • Property type: single family home, townhouse, condo, apartment, multi family, home, etc.
  • Year built
  • Sale dates

Once again, you can choose the type of property owner information which you want: address, phone number, email address, or all.

At the end just click on Add Contact.

Step 3: Download Your Homeowner Data

The next step in the process to find property owner is to download the homeowner list which our real estate tools have prepared for you. As soon as your list is ready, you will receive an email with a link to your Mashboard. Moreover, you can just go to your Mashboard and click on the Notifications symbol in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Click on the most recent notification that Owner List Sample is ready.

This will show you a sample of five property owners who match your property owner lookup criteria. You will also see how many homes match your exact property lookup criteria. To download the complete list, just click on the Export to CSV button.

Step 4: Access Your Property Owner List

Next in how to find the owner of a property process, click on the Leads tab in the left-hand side menu of your Mashboard. You will get a list of the property owners who match your property owner search criteria with the following information:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • City
  • Added data

With our tools, you can narrow down and organize the homeowner data. Just click on the funnel symbol in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to have the Filters menu open. You can set up the following filters to make your property owner lookup even more precise:

  • City
  • State
  • Likelihood: This feature is particularly useful for real estate agents as it helps them qualify leads in an effortless manner. Based on big data, predictive analytics, and AI, our tools tell you whether a lead has a low, medium, or high likelihood of buying a real estate property in the near future. This helps you decide immediately whether a property owner is worth your time and efforts or not.
  • Gender
  • Property type: single family home, condo, multi family home, commercial real estate property, or other
  • Financing type: cash or mortgage
  • Marital status
  • Budget

Once you are ready with your property owner requirements, just click on Apply to see the house owners who match your criteria.

Step 5: Find Property Owner Information

How to find the owner of a property from here on is easy. Just click on the name of any of the home owners in your filtered list, and you will be taken to the property owner page.

On this page you will find all the property information and all the homeowner data that you can potentially need as a real estate investor, a real estate agent or broker, or a professional rental property manager. Importantly, you can find out what property value each lead can afford as well as the financing method and the size of the down payment. You can find out this person’s industry, education, net wealth, and wealth score. You will see whether the property owner is a home owner or a renter and whether he/she is a real estate investor.

Importantly, real estate agents will view right away if this lead is qualified or not.

Step 6: Contact Property Owners

Last but not least, with subscription to our expert plan, you can send emails to all house owners from your customized list.
